Sherry’s Platform Prioritizes the Needs of Working Families:
Public Safety
Strong advocate for police reform based on 21st Century Policing strategies, civilian oversight, and keeping our neighborhoods safe. Sherry will set up a task force to look into and report police closure rates. She will also advocate for “Shot Spotter”, a sought-after tool for more precisely determining the location of “shots fired” to more accurately apprehend those responsible.
Affordable Housing and Living Wages
Protects neighborhoods against accelerated gentrification. Works with legacy residents on how to develop and grow their neighborhoods. Supports living wages and job training in high- demand fields in partnership with labor unions and technical colleges.
Infrastructure, Transportation, Transit & Environment
Strong advocate for MARTA expansion with more consistent community involvement. Allocate resources more equitably to ensure underserved neighborhoods get relief from crumbling infrastructure while supporting Vision Zero without compromising emergency responder access to streets, like Cascade Road, while putting our lives at risk. She demands ADA compliance while working with hearing and vision impaired residents and groups like the National Federation of the Blind of Georgia. Protecting our environment, tree canopy, and public green spaces to maintain clean air, land, and water. Supports implementation of a conservancy plan to protect and grow the tree canopy to ensure clean air, land, and water that eliminates consequential erosion, flooding, and airborne toxins.
